Former Mayor and current Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South, Hon. Okoe Vanderpuije

After frantic efforts to abolish the canker of shift system in the Accra Metropolitan area with construction of the Millennium Schools, former Mayor of Accra, Hon. Okoe Vanderpuije, continues to support these schools in diverse ways.
The former Mayor and current Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South presented dual desks to eight of the millennium schools in the sub-metro in the Greater Accra Region.
Inadequate furniture have been a serious challenge confronting schools in the Ablekuma Sub-metro but with the intervention of Hon. Okoe Vaderpuije’s presentation, the schools have somehow been relieved.
In a speech, Hon. Okoe Vaderpuije commended the headmaster and teachers of one of the Millennium schools named after Nii Kojo Ababio, the Kate James Town Mantse for taking good care of the environment and urged them to keep it up.
He promised to increase the quantity of desk next year to 200, saying he would wish only four of the schools share it so that in the subsequent years, another four schools would also share.
The MP encouraged heads of the various schools and the teachers not to be discouraged by the current challenges facing the country and the educational sector in general but to do their best to impact quality knowledge into the students.
According to the MP, no government or institution can reward the hard work being exhibited by Ghanaian teachers and that they would receive their rewards in heaven.
Hon. Vaderpuije noted that it is through the efforts of teachers that a child from nowhere becomes somebody in future and entreated them to continue to commit their skills and energy towards the future development of the Ghanaian child.
A representative of the Metro Education Director thanked Hon. Vaderpuije for his continues support to the educational standard of children in the sub metro and promises their commitment to ensure that the desks together with the school environment are well maintained.
