A non-governmental organisation, Enliven Mama Africa, sponsored by Umar Malik on behalf of the UK Supporter, has built a 9-unit classroom block at a cost of GH¢246,600 for the Atwima- Boko Islamic Primary School.
The project was inaugurated fully furnished with toilet facilities and cieling fans in all the 9-classrooms.
240 mono-desks and over 250 pieces of school uniforms were also supplied by the NGO.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Chief Executive Officer of Enliven Mama Africa, Mr. Maxwell Donkor said his outfit’s motive was to put smiles on the faces of school children and the only way they can do that was to build an educational facility for them, which will reduce the burden of traveling long distances to assess education and to also support government’s agenda since government alone cannot provide the needs of the public.
The leader of Umar Malik Group, Umar Malik indicated that their priority is focusing mainly on the Zongo Communities with the aim of bringing education closer to children living in these communities.
The District Executive, Nana Oti Tawia thanked Enliven Mama Africa and its partners for putting the ultra -modern edifice in support of the district’s quest to build more schools to absorb the increasing number of students in the district.
He admonished those who would be handling the project to have proper maintenance culture for the facility to stay longer.
According to him, the president of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians to resource every child’s education and that plans are far advanced for the assembly to roll out policies that would make ensure every child is in school.
