Mrs. Funmi Tayo Ajimoke, CEO of Balm of Joy Foundation, a Non Governmental Organization, has awarded scholarships to three (3) students of the Abene Methodist Primary School.
The scholarship scheme, which is aimed at supporting brilliant but needy students in the Kwahu Municipality, was awarded to Emmanuel Ashiatey, Dankwa Augustine and Justice Marfo at the Abene Methodist Primary School on Saturday, 13th October, 2018.
According to Mrs. Funmi, though the scheme does not have a life time plan yet, it will be reviewed every year after which a student will be awarded the scholarship if they should emerge as the most brilliant.
The event was attended by Nana Adjoa Gyemfua III, Nana Simpeh Owiredu (Krontihene of Abene), Nana Odame Kwasi Ansong II (Akwamuhene) and Nana Awuah Basoah (Nkondwasoafohene)
She noted that her NGO seeks to go further to support children who do not have their parents around them.
Two more students namely, Sahara Christian and Derrick Boateng were also assisted with educational materials and stationeryag.
The queen mother of Kwahu, Nana Adwoa Gyemfua III, expressed her gratitude to Balm Joy Foundation and urged both parents and teachers to help build the future of the kids and the town as a whole.
Speaking to Agoo FM’s Odame Agyare, she pleaded with the NGO to continue doing the good works they have began so that it can help the school children.
