Management of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has pledged to partner contributors of the scheme in every step to ensure comfortable retirement.

The assurance was given by the Customer Experience Manager of SSNIT, Mrs. Victoria Gifty Abaidoo at the launch of 2018 Customer Service Mobile Clinic in Accra under the theme, “Wo SSNIT Daakye Hy3 Wonsa.”

SSNIT, she indicated, believes that an empowered contributor will have a smooth sail through the retirement journey.

“One of such is the Customer Service Mobile Clinic that was instituted Seven years ago. It was launched on Tuesday, 18th October 2011 and was placed at the Accra Central, Head office (now Pension House) and Tema Harbour branches.”

The objective of Customer Service Mobile Clinic, she mentioned, has been to showcase and provide excellent service to their customers, employers, contributors, claimants, pensioners and the general public.

Management of the scheme, she said, have a responsibility to manage members’ contributions and replace their income as and when they fall due but stressed that they also have a part to play.

“We therefore reiterate that every contributor should seek and find knowledge about their status with the SSNIT Scheme. We have provided you with platforms or avenues through which you can obtain information.”

Mrs. Laurette Korkor Otchere Esq., the Deputy Director-General in charge of Benefits and Operations, said SSNIT is working to ensure that 100 per cent of workers in the formal sector are enrolled onto the Scheme.

According to her, the Trust would find ways of ensuring that all workers, including those in the informal sector, get social security coverage, adding that Social security is a human right and every worker is entitled to safe, secure and dependable retirement.

The Customer Service Mobile Clinic, Mrs. Otchere said would not only help to expand coverage of the National Pension Scheme among workers who are not covered but also, send messages to stakeholders that customer satisfaction is very important to the Trust.

“By organising the customer service mobile clinic, we will be raising awareness of the importance of social security benefits when workers can no longer work.”

The Trust, she stated, is collaborating with the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) to find ways of bringing informal sector workers onto the SSNIT Scheme.

Teams from SSNIT branches have been pitching tents within densely populated areas to provide solutions under the Customer Service Mobile Clinic regarding; Update of current postal and email address; Update of name, beneficiaries, lost cards etc; Statement of accounts; Members rights and obligations; Student loan information; Thumb prints; Life certificates; General education on social security and general inquiries
