The Wulomo of Ga state, Nuumo Ogbaame III has told the Greater Accra Minister Hon. Nii Armah Ashiety to be in his lane and stop interfering with traditional customary rites.
According to him, the people of Ga State are peace-loving and for him to suggest sprinkling of kpokpoi to be done in indoors in order to avoid conflict is a big joke.
He added that the festival would be celebrated without trouble and noted that the Minister can all the same bring the police to protect them if they indeed want to do so.
Nuumo Ogbaame III said it is the duty of the government to protect the people of Ghana and therefore would not stop them from sending the police to come and protect the people of Ga State but not to dictate as to what they should do.
He hinted that they started celebrating the Homowo festival with “street Kpokpoi” sprinkling before the Minister was born.
The Ga state, he indicated, operates neutrally and would not allow politicians to interfere in their affairs and called on the entire Ga State to unite.
