Minority leader shocked at Akufo-Addo’s Pretentious love for Rawlings

Minority leader in Parliament, the Hon. Haruna Iddrissu, has marveled at the hypocrisy being exuded by the President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in his shallow attempt to portray himself as someone who adores former President Jerry John Rawlings.

According to THE Minority leader, it was quite ironic that President Akufo-Addo found it necessary to speak for the former President.

He recalled that it is President Akufo-Addo who as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice under former President John Agyekum Kufuor unilaterally stripped former President Jerry Rawlings of all his constitutionally mandated entitlements, protocols and courtesies.

He noted that not long ago, President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) told the country former President Rawlings is a mad man who finds pleasure in climbing trees.

“Today President Akufo-Addo turns around to hypocritically express pretentious love for former Mr. Rawlings,” he wondered?

The Minority leader expressed amazement that President Akufo-Addo wants Ghanaians to believe that he loves former President Rawlings more than those in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who stood by Mr. Rawlings and his family when under the NPP the former first family were tormented, prosecuted, emotionally tortured and politically persecuted.

“Truly, wonders will never end. Interesting times,” he observed.

He pointed out that on settled historical unquestionable fact of the Founder of Ghana, President Akufo-Addo has refused to agree with the world including recent pronouncements by President Emmanuel Macron of France that the Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is the sole and indisputable founder of Ghana.

The Minority leader questioned whether it is not an irony that President Akufo-Addo would even attempt to pretend he adores no less a person than former President Rawlings.
