Airline catering and logistics provider in France and Africa “Servair”, has inaugurated a new production unit at the Accra Airport.
The new center is to deliver catering for 170 flights for its client companies every month and dozen external clients (VIP lounges, canteens, caterers etc).
With total investment of GH¢14,000,000 (£2,800.000), Servair has stated its intention to continue to expand in Ghana where it has been present for six years, a market that has become key part of its African market.
Minister for Aviation, Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaa commended management of Servair for expanding their wings to Ghana.
She pledged President Akufo-Addo and his government’s commitment to support the private sector to operate in a business friendly environment in the country.
Ministry of Aviation, she disclosed, was established by government to position Ghana as a preferred choice of traveling in the sub-region as far as the aviation industry is concerned.
The Deputy General Manager of Servair in Africa, Mr. Christian Gauthier said the opening of a new production unit makes Ghana one of the pillars of their African network, while strengthening their position as a leader in airline catering in a rapidly developing continent.
Servair, a subsidiary of gategroup is France’s leading airline catering and cabin cleaning company. It has also become the leading caterer in Africa with 21 locations in 18 countries.
Among the personalities that attended the inauguration ceremony were the French Ambassador to Ghana Mr. Francois Pujolas and Mr. John Dekyem Attafuah, the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited.
